PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips professional displays and complementary solutions, has announced the appointment of highly experienced LED product specialist, Jens Wunderlich, as the company’s new Global Product Manager of LED displays.

Based in Berlin, but with a global remit, Wunderlich will spearhead the next phase of the company’s global growth strategy and ambitions for its advanced and evolving portfolio of highly versatile, low-energy, direct-view LED displays, with hospitality (including hotels) being a major market focus for PPDS.

With a professional career in AV spanning over 25 years, including the past decade devoted exclusively to LED displays, Wunderlich brings extensive product knowledge and project management experience to PPDS, having worked with some of the world’s leading and most recognised companies. His specialist areas include LED installations for projects in driving simulation, TV and film (studio production/broadcast), LED rental applications, public spaces (airports and LED outdoor venues), and more.

Reporting to Jeroen Brants, who has global responsibility for PPDS’ LED product portfolio, Wunderlich will play an intrinsic role in developing and executing the company’s dvLED growth ambitions on a worldwide scale.

Wunderlich will also work closely with PPDS’ elite Global Partner Alliance (GPA) member networks and its dedicated team of International Key Account Directors to help facilitate fast, seamless, consistent and cost-effective project completions of any size or scale anywhere on the planet. Wunderlich said that the opportunity to join the company and play a part in its journey was a no-brainer for him, particularly at a time when LED adoption has never been greater.

“This is an incredibly exciting and hugely opportunistic time for manufacturers to seize new opportunities with LED displays, in almost any indoor and outdoor market. PPDS has continued to demonstrate its strengths in developing innovative and truly world-leading direct-view LED solutions, making a difference for businesses around the globe,” said Wunderlich.

Vice president of global product strategy, Robert Hsu, said that PPDS leads from the front when it comes to innovation.

“Something that can be seen in all our products, perhaps none more so than in our growing range of dvLED solutions. Since entering the LED market, our solutions have become synonymous with quality, innovation and commercial appeal. PPDS is now firmly part of the conversation, no matter how big, small, or creative the project might be,” said Hsu.

According to market forecasts, the LED market is set to reach more than $23 Billion by 2030, with a CAGR of nearly 7.5 percent. With a broadening range of dedicated direct-view LED solutions, including those designed, and tailorable to support a widening range of dedicated market verticals, PPDS is now perfectly positioned to seize new growth opportunities, in which Wunderlich will play a crucial role.
